About the report

The Business of Impact is a milestone report for The Impact Initiative. Many of the challenges the New Zealand Government seeks to address – such as whānau wellbeing, mental health and waste minimisation – are being addressed by social enterprises.

The report outlines several opportunities for the Government to further their own priorities by supporting social enterprises to thrive. These opportunities will be further detailed in a series of recommendations – developed alongside government agencies – that propose practical and targeted ways for the Government to deliberately harness the positive impact of social enterprises. The recommendations will be delivered at the end of the programme in March 2021.

There are a range of case studies featured in the report, and the report appendix, which have been combined into one document for this online version.

Report case study enterprises are:
BBM, DINE Academy, Oak Tree Devanning, Your Corps, Mahurangi Wastebusters, and MINT Innovation.

The appendix case study enterprises are: Tupu Toa, CoLiberate, Ignite Aotearoa, Whenua Iti, Abilities Group, and All Heart NZ.
